Happy Monday!
I had planned to post these last few pictures from our trip to Brugge last week, but my son wound up being really sick and that threw a wrench in all of my plans for the week. He had this crazy high fever for 5 days and missed the whole last week of school...strange thing was, he had no other symptoms but the fever and generally feeling icky. My youngest daughter now has it, but doesn't seem to be quite as bad, fortunately!!
At any rate, I did want to show you some of the pics I snapped along the water in Brugge.
Brugge is sometimes referred to as, "The Venice of the North," due to the many buildings built along the winding canals...and it is so lovely...
If you ever make it to Belgium, I can't recommend this quiet, peaceful, almost perfectly preserved city enough!
A special thank you to Annelies for the many emails she generously sent to me outlining her favorite spots in Brugge!! Annelies writes the beautiful blog Le ciel Flamand.

Beautiful photos - thanks for sharing. I was in Brugge years ago and this is exactly how I remember it.
If it is any consolation, I remember my children having this 'mystery fever' when they were very young as well - high fever with absolutely no other symptoms. It lasts a few days, and I think they even had it more than once.
All best,
Phyllis

Gorgeous photos! It reminds me a little of Annecy at the base of the French Alps, and considered France's "little Venice".

Tracey, thank you for taking us along to this magical city. It is on my list!
We were able to visit this city about 8 years ago. It was not planned but someone told us we must go so we took the train from Brussels and we were so thankful we did. It simply is the most charming place and your pictures captured this.
When I visited Europe back in the 90's, Brugge was my very favorite place.
Brugge - the perfect place to spend some time with family. Wish I can visit the place too. :)
